    Willow Project

    Willow Project is an investigation into one of Iceland´s newly gained raw materials, the willow tree. For centuries wood has not been an accessible resource in Iceland, but now forests are reaching useable state. The willow tree was treated with untraditional woodworking methods, boiled, burnt, distilled and pressed. It was deconstructed into microscale and reassembled in various ways, using all by-products as valuable resources. During the process, nothing was added but water and heat - not to disturb natural circulation of material - the transformed material can be returned to the forest floor for nutrition.
